Turkish BIST 100 Index Sees Modest Gains

(MENAFN) Turkey's primary stock gauge concluded Tuesday's trading session at 10,962.02 points, reflecting a modest increase of 0.30% compared to the previous day’s close.

Opening the day at 10,960.78 points, the BIST 100 index added 35.25 points over Monday's final level.

Throughout the trading day, the index fluctuated between a low of 10,915.63 and a peak of 10,993.61, showcasing moderate volatility.

Out of the total indexes, 48 experienced upward momentum, while 50 ended the day in negative territory.

This highlights a somewhat mixed sentiment across the market.

The total trading volume reached 128.6 billion Turkish liras, which equates to approximately $3.14 billion.

Meanwhile, the aggregate market capitalization of the index stood at 10.16 trillion liras, or roughly $249.17 billion.

Currency markets showed the USD/TRY exchange rate at 40.8915 as of 6:20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).

The euro/lira conversion was recorded at 47.7620, while the British pound was exchanging at 55.2535.

In the commodities market, gold was valued at "$3,323.85" per ounce. Meanwhile, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil stood at "$65.70."
